I have always had a passion for dogs. Growing up, I knew that I wanted to work with dogs; training, grooming, breeding and exhibiting. Immediately after high school I began working for a boarding kennel where I learned animal husbandry skills and how to groom pet dogs.
In 2001, I began working for the Humane Society of Indianapolis as a Kennel Supervisor and shortly thereafter was given the opportunity to manage their Animal Behavior and Training Department. This opportunity allowed me to begin my career as a professional Dog Trainer and Animal Behavior Consultant.
I am currently the Director of Pet Behavior Services for the Broad Ripple Animal Clinic & Wellness Center and the Head Master for Bark Tutor School for Dogs.
In 2003, I sat for the Certification Counsel for Professional Dog Trainers Certified Professional Dog Trainer examination, earning the CPDT-KA credential. This is the only objective certification offered for Professional Dog Trainers in the United States.
I have successfully completed the Purdue University DOGS! Course. This intensive five day course, with proctored exam, covers the principles and techniques of behavior modification.
I exhibited my first dog, a Basenji, in 2002 and have since handled several breeds including Basenji, Poodles, Afghan Hounds and Mastiffs.
