Each individual has a distinct personality that sets us apart from all the rest. It’s that distinct personality that makes people who they are. Identifying their strengths by using the True Colors model makes them shine like the brightest star in the sky. Did you know that this same theory could be applied to dogs, too? Like people, each individual dog has a distinct personality.
Letitia Fox’s new book Canine Colors is the inspiration for two new certification programs that have been developed for animal caregivers working in the veterinary and animal rescue fields. Canine Colors Certification Programs are tailored to the animal caregiver and veterinary practitioner who not only want to strengthen the human-animal bond, but also desire a great work environment and organizational culture.
Canine Colors for Veterinary Teams is a one-day certification program that equips leaders with the knowledge and tools to build and lead a stronger team of co-workers or volunteers! This fun, easy-to-use team building and communications method uses self-awareness to build stronger teams in any veterinary or animal care setting. Your organization will embrace this program, as it is tailored specifically for the animal care setting.
Canine Colors for Coaches is a one-day certification program for breed selection, adoption coaching and pet behavior coaching. Graduates of Canine Colors for Veterinary Teams will learn to take Canine Colors a step further by administering Canine Colors testing on clients and their canine patients! This program will provide participants with the ability to offer new services in their veterinary practice or pet adoption facility, while strengthening the human-animal bond. Certified Coaches will be able to assist clients in choosing the right dog for their family and lifestyle. They will also be able to coach clients, who are struggling with understanding their dog’s personality and needs, which in many cases is misconstrued as behavior problems.
Canine Colors for Veterinary Teams is open to veterinarians, practice managers, veterinary technicians, and anyone else who may act in a leadership role, either in a veterinary hospital or animal shelter setting. Graduates of this program can then move on to complete the Canine Colors for Coaches certification program. Some organizations may prefer the certification process be split between two people on staff. This is acceptable when a leader in the organization has been certified in Canine Colors for Veterinary Teams and the organization is actively using the Canine Colors program. In these cases, the Certified Canine Colors Leader may recommend a veterinary technician or other support staff team member to the Canine Colors Coaching program.
Canine Colors Certification programs will be available in back-to-back sessions, at different locations around the country.
This program is great for True Colors Facilitators to use as part of employee engagement!

......new friends and a great way to meet new people and make the relationships you currently have expand and thrive. That includes humans and pets.
Thank you Letitia for introducing me to this amazing new way to look at life and the animals that share my life
This has opened my eyes to a new way to look at people and make sure I understand the people in my life and the ani-pals as well."
“My name is David Dunbar and I am a Veterinary Hospital Administrator in
I am by nature and experience a skeptic. I go in to every class with the hope of stumbling on a few useful nuggets. Many classes I have attended were billed as dynamic and ground breaking but left me feeling unsatisfied. It seems that information often gets a new package and a new name, but the information is the same. Other classes are so vague that they cannot be applied to real business. The concepts are there, but no details to facilitate their implementation.
Canine Colors surprised me. It was an enjoyable and interactive class. We all saw a lot of self discovery by our classmates, which spurred our interest. The concept develops itself as the participants move through the program. Details are given which will allow me to implement this program in my own office. We were taught communication skills that are universal in nature and applicable to our individual businesses. We were directed to the profitability and efficiency changes that the Colors program will create in our office.
I was so impressed and excited about Canine Colors upon my return, that I administered the class to the owner of our clinic, one on one. He too saw how this program would assist in our growth as people, staff and managers. As of current, we have scheduled the entire staff to participate in the Canine Colors training. We hope that they too will embrace Colors and use it to communicate better with one another and with our clients. In the future we will be adding the adoption assistance program and pet evaluation module to our clinic. Both appear to open doors for revenue and expansion. All of the Colors program is directed to the clinic/client relationship and bonding the client to us as a provider. This is a top notch program that I will gladly recommend.”
